Didem Parlakyiğit Görücü
Every artist's journey begins with a discovery. Didem Parlakyiğit Görücü's began in primary school, when her family saw that the pencil in her hand was drawing more than ordinary lines: it was the first sign of a talent. From then on the lines grew, the colours multiplied and art moved to the centre of her life.
After completing her fine arts education she did not only make work of her own; she took on teaching, passing her knowledge, her technique and the spirit of art to new generations. The studios she founded became creative centres where ideas are born and talent takes shape. She opened the exhibitions “Abstract Concepts” in 2013 and “The Magic of Colours” in 2016.
With fifteen years of experience, Didem is more than a painter: she is the founder of Didem Parlakyiğit Art & Design Studio, an innovative designer and a storyteller who moves freely between the disciplines of contemporary art. For her, art is a way of speaking that pushes limits, transforms spaces, talks with walls and gives every surface a soul.
Years of specialising in wall art have given her a deep feel for how colour and texture relate to architecture. In every project she makes original, striking work that reinterprets the identity of the space. Her range, from classical techniques to modern surface finishes and from abstract expression to decorative design, has made her an experienced professional and a designer who leads.
Today her works are not only looked at but felt: art experiences that become one with the space and invite the viewer to think and to feel. Her designs are registered with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

Each piece is shaped by hand and painted in layers. Because the folds reflect light from different angles, the piece changes in appearance through the day.
